Absolutely fascinating guy he was. I have met him when I worked for Liverpool School of Trop Medicine where we had some very poisonous snakes and he came in to view them, with his British counterpart.

 

these blokes are so laid back with these creatures and getting bitten by them does not faze them.

 

I liked his attitude and he actually did massive work for conservation in Australia.

So sad that such a young boy and girl have lost their dad.

 

Agree very much with everyone's sentiments though I could not watch his shows in the end ... don't know if reckless is a more fitting word than laid-back, just thought he took too many chances.

 

Australian Government have paid tribute to his wild-life work and also his promotion of Australia as a tourist destination.

Very sad news, just goes to show you how popular he was. Everywhere I went today they were talking about him. Whatever anyone thought about the way he dealt with animals and his personal safety he was blooming entertaining and like you said Bruno he did untold ammounts of work for conservation etc. Big Loss!
