1- i would make sure that there was a club to join that had decent members

2- i would make sure i had the base for my lofts already  layed out

3- i would go to my good friend harry hooper from st ives club in ferndown

4- i would design my lofts so that everything is in one place and it was at a proper level off the ground ,

and aarden my friend  if you are thinking of re starting  then you come to me for some birds ,,,lmao

I wouldn't go to every Tom, Dick and Harry for pigeons.

I would study the results in the fancy press, not the adverts.

Buy from one source to cut down the chances of inheriting health problems into your loft.

if i was restarting i would go to my good freinds wooff bros and son,of new ollerton and do everything they told me to do,,loft birds , management etc ,, charlie woof has been at the top now consistenly in at least the last 30 years his results are phenominal, and a more honest man youll never get, same as his brother les who is at staindrop :) :) :)

If i was to restart,id make sure that the federation that i joined in was sending a good number of birds and had a strong membership. What i would do differently is that firstly i would study the results of the people who do well in my federation, taking into consideration that i want to compete in every race, and get in contact with them and ask to buy some latebreds.possibly around 10-14 maxium, maybe 7 from each fancier. For example in my federation if i was starting id ask davy hunt and micky connolley for some latebreds. With these latebreds id train them through the winter and what is left will, then go on to breed me a couple round of youngsters, then will go back into the basket for training and racing. This way i can build a team around proven good pigeons, aswell as racing them, and the ones that do well will be put to stock but always let out so there would be no prisioners
