Mike Lycett Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 We bred a pigeon for the West Midlands Region this year to compete in the RPRA 1 Loft race. He did very well as a rule with 4 or 5 top 30 efforts - and twice in the top 10 I think - despite making a couple of balls-ups! Anyway, he's Lot 237 on www.rpra1loftrace.co.uk Ring no. is 06C86407. If anyone is interested in bidding he's direct from 2 of the best birds on the garden. I'm not touting for money. 50% of the final price goes to the RPRA and the other 50% goes to Walsall Wood JMI School. We get nothing - I'd just like to see the bird fetch as much as possible for the school. Go on then - tell you what - if a member of pigeonbasics buys the pigeon I'll chuck in a hen to go with him FREE OF CHARGE ********************************************************** SIRE MERLIN 04Z63175 BRED BY M & D EVANS – SUPERB PIGEON IN THE MAKING BEING DIRECT FROM WESTKAPELLE X BAND OF GOLD. Not running it up - a friend with no PC asked me to bid (which I've done). His final bid has now been placed totally out of order shouldnt be allowed.(my own opinion)
Guest CS Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 totally out of order shouldnt be allowed.(my own opinion) W H Y ? :-/
Mike Lycett Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hang on a minute If I want the pigeon back myself then I'll buy it back myself - not breaknig any rule there & its a testamwent of that pigeons quality that I'd have it back If "I" want to bid - "I" will
Guest Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 people must remember that the birds that people like Mike and many other one loft racers send are the very best they have no point in sending otherwise so why should they not try and buy them back i would say that is a good sign

Mike Lycett Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 totally out of order shouldnt be allowed.(my own opinion) Apology accepted - Thank You
swilcox Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Tell me one thing why does the bids jump so high by the same person? On one lot the same guy has bid against himself up at least £100.
Mike Lycett Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 It can only rise if 2 people are bidding - just like EBay. If only 1 userid is bidding & he can bid a thousand times it won't move until someone else bids
swilcox Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Caption Lot 5 M Robinson £200 1st Oct 16.27.47 M Robinson £195 1st Oct 16.27.43 M Robinson £190 1st Oct 16.27.38 M Robinson £185 1st Oct 16.27.34 M Robinson £180 1st Oct 16.27.24 M Robinson £175 1st Oct 13.51.40 Just wondering what it all means Stuart
Guest Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 it is just the same as at a live auction if you think you might put people off and win the lot you would bid say £50 more but you can only bid up £5.00 at a time which makes it look as if you are bidding against your self
Mike Lycett Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 It means his bid is chasing another one that was higher than his own. Max bid might've been say £200.00 but it'll only go up in fivers until he becomes highest
Guest ukseanuk Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Mike Lycett How your pigeon doing in the auction ?
Mike Lycett Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 Last time I looked it was at £340.00 I think. *** Had the diploma for this pigeon today from the RPRA *** Bird finished 19th in one of the Hot-Spot races Diploma will be passed to the winner as well as a suitable hen to mate to lot 237
