jimmy white Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 still quite few vandies on the go yet, i suppose theyll be like the rest ,,some good, some bad, i remember an old fancier in blackpool had them for years[ so annoying when the name is on the tip of my tongue] but remember they were the real toughies
Guest Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 The fancier in Blackpool who raced the Vandeveldes with great success was none other than Bert Hession. They originated from Bill Healtley and Albert Crabtree. But there is no such thing as a Vandeveld pigeon anymore the mans been dead for longer than I can remember. Look to the future and make your own family from success not names. Frank Tasker
Guest Paulo Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Nah just curious as he used to win with him years ago and was curious to know more about than as Georges Busschaert crossed them in to help create the busschaert strain and a lot of people have them crossed with busschaerts such as Ron Strong the distance man from Hexham. Check out this years Homing Wold Stud book for the article
