- THERE ARE SO MANY "HERMANS" OUT THERE NOW, KAREL HERMAN, HERMAN BEVERDAM, ETC. I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHERE THE ORIGINAL HERMAN PIGEONS

IN THE SIXTIES I BOUGHT KAREL HERMANS FROM MR & MRS BASIL BEEBE FROM HORNCASTLE, LINCS.

I BELIEVE THAT ON THE DEATH OF KAREL HERMAN THEY RECEIVED MOST OF THE BIRDS & BELIEVE THEY WERE ONE OF THE MAIN SOURCES OF HERMAN PIGEONS IN THIS COUNTRY.

THEY WERE A SPRINT/MIDDLE DISTANCE FAMILY,WITH ONE LINE WHICH WERE PURE BLACKS & WERE PARTICULARLY POPULAR AT THE TIME I"M REFERING TO IN THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND.

DON"T SEE THEM ADVERTISED MUCH NOWADAYS THOUGH.

i think if you delve a bit into the myrtle lofts of m and d evans , youll find that they had indeed bought many of karel hermans champions many years ago, these were the breeding of ," the scherpe," "velthem," "the two blacks" "bordeeaux" "the famme" " the cahor" " westerloo" and many more of karel hermans top breeders and racers , then of course massarreli bought them at a later stage , but these were some of the breeding that came in to this country of the  karel hermans , allthough there were many colours i remember most of them bing jet black ,hence "the two blacks"
