Dave A Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 has any of you lads or lasses heard or have raced these if so what do you think of them, i was told these are purely sprint birds but do you know any more ?
Guest jason Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I had one, I had it given a few years ago, it was so good I gave it my neighbour lol. yes I was told theyr'e sprint birds but I wouldn't get any more, I stick with van reets and janssens for the sprint and schellens and lefabre dhanens for the middle distance.(I've never bothered with distance birds). jason
peterpau Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 A good friend has probbably the best Marris birds in the country. One of the top three flyers in the fed on a regular bassis. He wouldn't send to the distances mine go cos he can't get 'em. HORSES FOR COURSES

Dave A Posted October 19, 2006 Author Report Posted October 19, 2006 will tell ya next season craig, the cock flew his self nearly to death this year but the 2 hns have not been tried yet but will be next year , the spare hen was given at 20 days old and pulled through and will be tried in 2007, she is always one of the first out and last in so we shall see !!!!!
peterpau Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Mike!!! HE IS THE MAN I'd be sure there are no better Marris pigeons in the country. But others may have there own oppinions. If I were after sprint birds, I would go to him for his Marris. Each to there own but! He is a man I know and trust, and they are some of the best localy. I'd be torn between going to Nuneaton or Leamington.
Guest slugmonkey Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 These look like Houbens to me
peterpau Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 They may look like Houbens but my friend went to Marris and was the first one to bring them into the country
