billymac Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 s-mez 16%, (sulphadimidine sodium) used in the treatment of cocci, bronco pneumonia & bacterial enteritis, sorry cant help with dosages.
me Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 some vets say 15ml per gallon others reckon 30 ml because they think the birds will not drink enough. 20ml per gallon is a convenient amount to suit most drinkers, try that and see how much the water consumption drops.
square_peg Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 CANT REALLY UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR DOO'S SOMETHING YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO ADMINISTER PROPERLY

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I WOULD NEVER USE SOMETHING I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH SOME VERY OLD FLIERS, [FIFESTAY INCLIUDED ] AND THEY SEEMED TO HAVE OLD NATURAL REMEDIES FOR MOST THINGS AND THEY COST NEXT TO NOTHING , ONE OF THE BEST ONES I WAS TOLD WAS BAKING SODA IN THE DRINKER AND THEY NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH CANKER, ANOTHER ONE WAS A DROP OF IODINE AND THAT KEPT BLOOD HEALTHY I KNOW THERE ARE PLENTY AILMENTS NOW THAT WERE NOT PRESENT A LONG TIME AGO BUT THERE IS STILL A CHEAP NATURAL CURE OR PREVENTATIVE FOR MOST OF THEM IF YOU JUST FIND THE RIGHT OLD MAN TO ASK [ BRUNO IS ONE TO ASK AND MAYBE THE FIFER BECAUSE HE'S JUST OLD ] I HAVE ALSO SPOKEN TO HYACINTH AND SHE ADVOCATES USING AS MANY NATURAL THINGS AS POSSIBLE,SO MAYBE SOME OF THE OLDER AND MORE EXPERIENCED FANCIERS COULD ADD A THREAD WITH SOME NATURAL REMEDIES THAT COST LITTLE
