Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Poultry Breeders Pellets without medication are the best in my experience. They contain everything .
Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 No Breeders Pellets are the ones I use by the firm Pauls.. I feed after a race in a trough. They should be £4.50 to £5.00 a bag. You wills eee the quality of youngsters reared this way. 1/ 3 handfull of Breding Mix . 2/ 10 minutes later same amount of Tamanian Maples . when that is polished off . Fill the trough with the pellets . I feed the Stcok bird 4 times a day this way & there is no wastage . Where abouts are you situated ..Pauls have a factory near Preston . Best Wishes for Christmas to all site users, Steve .
Jeremy Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Poultry growers Pellets are as good as any but cheaper about £6 for 25 kg they contain everything that they need as they are used for growing poultry i have used them for 20 years with excellent results i just add 15% to the breeding mix.I get mine from Country wide stores.
Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 They are probably the same Jeremy. Pellet reared young grow on quickly but care is neede to get the weight off later when you need to get them in the air. Steve .
Jeremy Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Thats right. When mine are 8 weeks old no more pellets they are on 75% Gerry 25% breeder then 4 weeks before racing starts they are on the old bird mixtures..
Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I will try to clarify my earlier posting. I feed Vesele Laga Kweekstart mix to the Breeders. 12 pair stock . 3 Handfulls or a scoop in a trough on floor . Birds eat this heartily . Have a cup of tea . Next same amount of Tasmanian Maples ....never from the farm as this is one source of Salmonella infection ....I know this from tests . Do some work in the loft for 10 minutes or so . Add 2 scoops of pellets . Top up trough before leaving for work with peas. Always replace Grit /minerals daily. Make sure drinking water is served luke warm. I have fed this way for years & always breed Sound , Winning Youngsters.
friendsloft Posted December 17, 2006 Author Report Posted December 17, 2006 Steve do you have the adderess for that factory in Preston please. and thanks to all for information given. friendsloft
Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I leave mine on peas 80 % , pellets 20% as I dont like my youngsters to fly until 6 weeks before the 1st race .
Sajfos Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I dont have the Address but I will do my best to find out Tomorrow & I will post it on this site , I buy mine from poultry suppliers locally or You could try Farmers Auctions etc.. Keep them in a dustbin when You open the bag as they attract moisture. Look out for fungal spores during damp weather .
friendsloft Posted December 17, 2006 Author Report Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks Sajfos for your time and effort will check tomorrow Ken (friendsloft)

Guest speckled Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 why only the stock birds :-/ young man ,get feed the pellets :o why not the racers.?????? just asking ya may have reason Speck :-/ :-/
birdman55678 Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 A couple things on the pellets, it produces some fantastic looking ybs and on the bad side they are very messy, when the birds crap it is always loose and produces abnoxious odors. I haven't used them myself but no of several lofts that have. Ed
