Guest Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 Well I've just used smoke bombs for the first time. My Goodness I was stood outside the loft watching the smoke pouring out from under the roof and thought what have I done!! The loft will be on fire and the birds will be dead with smoke inhalation. But all seems well enough, I'd put the stock birds together and their all ok! But certainly spooked me.
Guest Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 Did the same last night Alan, scared the living bee jesus out of me. Cracked me up though the birds couldn't give a damn.
Guest coxy Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 u got a link to there site plz m8 or to the item

frank-123 Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 used smoke bombs by profit dont know if they done the birds any good just a few sneezzes after it if your going to do it better to be at night time as people might think your loft is on fire
Guest Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 Did mine last night, they were the pronafit ones. Better at night as the birds can't move around and go near the hot embers.

Guest Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 luckily I'm out in the sticks in a field!! So no need to worry about the smoke
paddymac Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Clares pet products are cheaper than B&R for the same product. Agree with informing people as my neighbour was in a bit of a panic when he nearly knocked my door down to inform me that my lofts were on fire. :)
birdman55678 Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 What are you using the smoke bombs for? Never heard of anyone doing such a thing here in the states. Ed
Guest Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 they are used for , if i am correct, to fumigate the loft. you canbuy them for your home, to fumigate your garage or loft. they killall the spiders, wasps, fleas etcand thing that is in there. hope this helps.
MsPigeon Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Very interesting, I had never heard of it before either. Does it kill lice on the birds as well? Cause spiders, wasps and such don't really bother the birds do they? Sounds like more of a thing people do to rid the insects that bother them. But if your leaving the birds in there it must do them some good. Is that right? Carol

Thanks much for the clarification. They are also used here in the states but I haven't heard of anyone using them in the lofts, many use them for basements and cellars. I would think the fumes would be harmful to the birds if they are strong enough to kill the spiders and other bugs. I remember a friend of mine used one in his basement and there was an awful stench upstairs. My thoughts anyway. Ed
Guest Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 yeah, it would be just my luck to set one off in the loft go backand all my pigeons would be high as kites!!!
ch pied Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 hi all ,if you intend to use smoke bomb's in your loft , make 100% sure they are of the formaldahyde type ment for pigeon loft's. if you use the other type that are SULFER based it won't be a happy ending, you will have nothing but dead pigeon's, the SULFER type can be used if you remove the bird's, and keep them out for 24hrs, that's including the one's ment for the green house. stick to KUDOUS or PRONAFIT and no problem. BE CAREFULL.
Guest CS Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Some of you used "Smoke bombs" How often do you give a smoke bombs in the lofts per year?
