Guest CS Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Which do you prefer Garden Lofts or Allotment lofts, pick one and why?
sapper756 Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Garden, because it,s at your back door, and security.
schouwman71 Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 again backgarden loft, use to be safe on allotments but these days its to risky, plus you tend to build more and keep more at the allotments, one good thing about allotments you get to have a breather from the missus. ;D ;D
Guest CS Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Back garden lofts, because you don't have to travel far to get to your allotment, and its to easier to keep your eyes on the birds and lofts 24/7
paul l Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Garden, because it,s at your back door, and security.
carl Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 at the moment its allotment as its all i know,i do stand looking into my back garden thinking about where the loft could go,,,but the wife wont have it. craig on our allotment theres 26 lofts flying so its good competition and not much advantage over anyone with wind direction, but it is hard to trail along there everyday in all weather,,,i would love them in the garden,,,, is it hard to get permission
Guest CS Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Carl, No it is not hard to get permission from your council but the problem is your neighbous if they ok with you and your pigeons...
Beanz Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Got to be the back garden, security and if there are any family problems you are there to sort
Sean Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 again backgarden loft, use to be safe on allotments but these days its to risky, plus you tend to build more and keep more at the allotments, one good thing about allotments you get to have a breather from the missus. ;D ;D Still not safe in your own back garden in our day's :-/

Sean Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 black garden its freezing down them allotments this morning what's black garden paulo never herd of this ?? Is it summet new pmsl
Keepsmilingqueen Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 iv experianced both over the years, my dad switched from allotment to the back garden as his health declined. the back garden is great as its just outa the back door easy for feeding and cleaning and touch wood no complaints from the neighbours in the 8yrs the birds have been here, whats not so good is that its in the middle of a housing estate and is nigh on impossible to keep them off the houses when exersizing. Dad had the allotment for over 50yrs and in that time we were unfortunatly broken into just twice and it was the caravan not the lofts that they targeted ;D the atmosphere on race day was much better on the allotment with fanciers forever popping in for a chat and a cuppa esspecially on channel races, the only reason the allotment had to go was due to my dads failing health
Keepsmilingqueen Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 personally tho i do prefer the back garden just for conveniance sake i can pop out and visit the birds as oftern as i like and know that they are safe, have water ect
Ronnie Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Back garden for conveniance ,But i would go to allotment if other flyers around here did just for the freindly banter and atmosphere it would generate. would prolly never sleep though cos i would be worried about the birds all the time if it was on an allotmen.Lol i'm up half the night now with em in the garden.
Guest CS Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 Interesting = Thanks all for the replied, best of luck for 2007.
Guest jason Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 I have a 20 x 6 loft in back garden, as big as I can go but I have a mate on an allotment with 6, 20 x 6 lofts so size doesn't matter to him and he can have as many pigeons as he likes. jason
THE FIFER Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 more security in the back garden io think, also a lot easier, more so in winter,
