OLDYELLOW Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 never had any trouble with the fantails mating & i found they really do make good parents to their young , they ll breed all year round if you let them so keep them in check a bit Indians arent as parental
Peckedhen Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I've never trimmed garden fantails - they have no problem filling their eggs.
THE FIFER Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 yes garden fantils ok, indian ones not good rearers, best puting their eggs under others,
steve Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 if they are the exibition type id cut the tails
kirky Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 some do cut tails on indians i never did and still bred ok only mistake i made was i paired them too early when cold weather and thay tend to come off ybs early, so i lost ybs due to cold,
Guest beautyhomer Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 micko, don't pull them they will only grow back within 6 weeks.Cut them if you want to and then pull the cut stubs if you intend showing them at least 8 weeks before your first show.
