Wiley Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 are you out of the house when then dog does this?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 BITCHES ARE ALWAYS EASIER TO TRAIN, ;D ;D AND YOU WILL HAVE TO BE THERE ALL THE TIME TO TRY AND TRAIN THE DOG NOW, JUST DONT FEED HIM ANYTHING AFTER HIS DINNER AND AND MAKE SURE HE IS OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE LATE AT NIGHT AND FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AND EVERYTIME YOU HAVE HIM OUT AND HE DOES THE BUSINESS OUTSIDE MAKE A FUSS OF HIM, HAVE TO PERSEVERE AS IT TOOK MINE A WEEE WHILE AS WELL TO GET USED TO IT BUT ONCE HE WAS IN A ROUTINE HE NEVER LOOKED BACK
Ronnie Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Aye the trick is lots of fuss and petting when he does his business outside.
celtic Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I house trained my bully by having her in a cage from the word go, easiest dog i've ever had too house train, they don't like standing in their own soiled patch at all, you can get the cages on e-bay cheap enough, great for when you've got to go out and they are still at the chewing stage etc. hope this helps.
Peckedhen Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I'd agree with Celtic on this. Our labrador *expletive removed* was totally confused..she'd be out in the garden, dash into the kitchen for a wee and then go back out again and she pooed every night!! A cage sorted the problem instantly! You need to get a cage small enough so the dog just has room for it's bed that way it can't go to one end to do the deed!
Guest Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 ;D what breed of racing pigeon are the pups ? (de puppse) dutch short distance maybe ? ;D ;D ;D andy 8)
ray Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 me what i do with mine is when theyve had a feed i put them straight out when there in the house, as soon as i see them wondering pick them up put them out i always reward them with something small and praise them, and the same when there outside if they do it out side i praise them and give them a treat, ive just got a dog from the rescue she wasnt trained and she's about 10 months old, but she is now took about a week, its just basically watching pick them up put them out, make a fuss and a treat. ray
Guest anthony Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 We always train our dogs to do there business on newspapar, what we do is this keep the puppy in a room covered with newspaper always clean, once get used to it always dco business on newspaper
jw Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 Thanks folks, for replies I just thought I would ask always had gun dogs before no problem, first time with the Fox terriers even at this tender age they have declared war on the local rodents. Thats one thing they dont need trained for a good thing before the new loft goes up Just thought I would clarify Ive had no problem house training his sister she even barks during the night to get out just shows how different they can be it sounds like its going to be the cage RELUCTANTLY!! YOURS IN SPORT JW
Peckedhen Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Why don't you see if you can borrow a cage? It's only for short term til the little fellow gets the hang of whet he's supposed to do. Local vets sometimes hire them out.
jw Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 Good Idea Peckled hen never thought of that thanks jw
celtic Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 JW, Cage won't do him any harm mate, if your vet does,nt hire them out try your local boarding kennels they are sure to have one, don't be reluctant about it he'll soon learn.
gangster Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 :D :D :try telling my stafford *expletive removed* shes wrecked the cage D :D
ray Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 i remember a few years back you could get a spray that you spray where you wanted the dog to do his or her business, so anyway red the can wrong i thought it said spray where you dont want the dog to do its business, so sprayed it all over the house, im glad it was rubbish and didnt work, other wise i would probably of had the smell still today. ray
celtic Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 ray, you'll have your hands full when the *expletive removed* comes into season will you not, or have you made plans for that already
jw Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 Ray thats all been taken care of Ray as its always been bitches Ive had before. Anybody got a cage that I can hire to try him in that? I live 6 miles from Dundee jw
ray Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 celtic yes my *expletive removed* has been doctored now as the first two years of her life the house was like a murder scene, i didnt know it was going to be as bad as it was, i have 2 beagles and he caught her when she was 11 months old, i laugh now my wife bought some knickers for her to stop him from doing what comes natural, after one day my wife said they look awful and took them off well you know what happened next day, then after that 8 puppies later, what a job so now there both doctored. and there pups are all over the country, some of the pups are up in scotland jw. ray
