I think you should modify this to ask what is the Best Money you ever spent on birds I can tell you the round of Veenstra's I bought was the best money I ever spent we have about 460.00 dollars each in them but I have won a LOT more than that one of them is a sister to Veenstras national ace several are down from Koopmans "Klinen Dirk" with a lot of other well known names in the peds we are getting 400 dollars each or 250 in kits and have paid for these birds many times over in winnings

I went to a mates clearance sale last year and he sold a cock known as "The Dickens Cock" and it went for £4000  :o :o :o!!! He was expected no more than £1000 for it, so I think he was a tad chuffed lol. And most of the others went for £500-1500!!!! Worlds gone mad  ;D ;D ;D. That said though the Dickens cock bred numerous winners and kept the lad near the top of his club for a few years - So maybe he was worth that?? I was fortunate to know him and was given a YB through the dickens cock for nothing  ;)!!

did the yb win anything?

if i did this then the best money i would say was the cost of 3 stamps...to transfer the bird to me.

it came in as a stray the year b4 as a y/b...didnt score in 1st few races in the o/b,s then topped the welsh north road fed beating the rest of the fed(over 4000 birds) by 22yrds.this bird was showing promise then next doors cat put paid to that by makin a meal of him....paul :)

Most I ever paid was £480 for a son of "Firefly" the famous Busschaert cock at Massarellas auction in B/Pool. Never again. Had him for three years and bred absolutely nothing.

Best pigeons I've got are Rapido Busschaerts, given by a friend and they give me an honest performance every race day. Will be trying some VRs against them this year.

Not as of yet, but he has scored a few times a 3rd and 5th club last year as a yearling!! Unraced as a YB. He bred a winner for my mate last year so his future looks bright  :) :)

The cock is a son of stapenzoon.Ive split the pair up and put them with my pair of braspennings from louella. Both have got a pair of big babies in the nest now so will be waiting to see what they do in YB season.Ive been told by eyesign people the two i got of G,Townley are really good eye's.Dunno whether thats true or not but the basket will tell .:)
