Guest jason Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 somthing for you to think about, if you wanted to make the hole thing a bit fairer (and you could get the birds here), our kids could race them in the mighty border amal.We could have a pigeon basics 'panel' which would consist of three top fanciers either voted for or names pulled out of an hat. The panel would then advise the kids of the promote the sport club how to train and race them. The birds would be going to 8 races rangeing from 60 to 300 mile, all with the border amal. The pigeon that does best, the breeder gets somthing and the buyer gets somthing. A bit like a breeder/buyer cross one loft race. and at the end of the season you could auction them off to raise a bit more money. It would be good advertisement for the sport. This was just a thought and it would only work if all were in agreement. jason
Guest coxy Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 i was even thinking abwt getin sum fanciers to get local skools involved m8 and yes there is extra prizes for young fancier for certain to encourage thembcuz after all im a young fancier and if it wasnt for kind fancier i wud no nower in the sport now
Guest coxy Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 i have been thinking and why not make it so thts theres a set entry fee which is dontated to pb directly and then the names r pickd frm a hat and each fancier obviously sorts out the pick up of his own bird and a percentage of the donation is used a prize money can i just add tht i would not except young fanciers to pay as i knw frm personal experiance tht its hard at the best of times without and funding behind u what do u think of this

Guest jason Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 I think we'll be needing a poll for this though (everyone will need to be in agreement) and we need numbers of birds (if the kids loft ain't big enough we can make it a little bigger). one other thing the wifes mentioned, is the auction at the end of the season, what if the kids have become attached to a couple of birds? Cheers jason
paul l Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 what about donating two pigeons to yur kids for looking after them what do people think
mac1 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 we should all swap birds race them then at the end auction them

Cheers jason hi jason i think its a brillant idea, the auction at the end id personally say let the kids have all the birds there left with as it would be a good start to get them up on there feet in the game. But would say an enterance fee would need to be put on or something simiular! But have to say its a good idea and if it goes through i know i would back it for sure 100% as the sport needs the new blood running through its veins
