They are auctioning off the top 100 birds from world ace challenge there are 33 birds up positions 66 - 100 and it is amazing that the first birds to be bid on were the ones in the back of the pack 86th I belive this is one more example of people looking at names and not birds this was a pretty easy pick there were 6 races the birds are in finish order the 66th bird is better than the 67th period you dont have to wonder or worry about it it is a proven fact * take note this is how to select breeders from unknown birds - pick the best bird * these birds flew from 150 - 400 miles and are listed by average speed so there werent any LUCKY races these birds earned every second I just dont understand it we hear about how the top name breeders are screwing the average fancier but here is what keeps the average fancier average I am amazed !!!!

Auction is over and the bird didnt sell there were several that didn't even have diplomas that sold, one over 700 dollars this particular bird had a 19th in one race and I belive a 45th in another oh well I guess I will see if I can get it back for free

people seem to buy the paper work, thats all there after! Buy to breed. Do they tell the buyer of the young that the parent of the bird they are buying was beaten , and beaten well by 66 others? justthe way things are going.

This particular bird has 3 national aces in the pedigree and 1 bird that is qualified to be an A.U. registered champion so he isn't weak on pedigree either

Slug Monkey, Could the explanation be that most people consider that the leading birds will be prohibitively priced. Perhaps if they conducted the auction the other way round i.e. selling the birds in the order of 1 - 66 instead of 66 -1 (hope that makes sense)

I know when i have looked at similar auctions I would not even consider the first 20 birds, expecting them to be out of my price range.

Just a thought.
