chickadee Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 One of our white fantails that we have just bought very recently is displaying very strange behaviour, it sits on the spar and constantly lifts its wings up and down it never sits still, i don't mean like a flying motion with its wings out full span, but just gently with its wings still folded as if it is airing off its under wing, other than that it seems perfectly normal. Has anyone ever seen this before? And what is it doing?

chickadee Posted April 8, 2007 Author Report Posted April 8, 2007 could be for excitement You could be right 'cause it looks like what the female does before the male treads her, but nobody is near it at the time, and its been doing it constantly since yesterday.

Guest Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 I have noticed my newly weaned squeakers do that and once 1 does it they all start coppying, then they all stretch their wings out, then they all start jumping up and down flapping their wings and get very excited,I think it is a game.

I wonder if they played that game in the last loft it was in? but, having said that it is the only one thats doing it the rest of them that came with it are not doing it. I've wondered if it was maybe a bit highly strung/nervous?
