Guest Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 wind looking like its going to turn south south west on sat
Wiley Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 its supposed to be ur right Geraint but that east is blowing quiet strong do you reckon it will turn??
Guest Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Rick quite often the first race some of my yearlings get is nearly 200 miles over the channel in may, more than often this is their first race of their lives as I don't race my channel youngsters. The training they get is regularly from the coast about 40 miles then in. They don't know whether it is 2 miles or 200 miles just make sure they are fit when you send them.
jimmy white Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 i wouldnt hesitate in sending yearlings to their first race being 200 miles,,,,providing it was in the month of may and the forecast was good, and the air being warm, but wouldnt even think about it at this time of year ,, a lot of yearlings are lost in early april in just training flights
peterpau Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Have to say Darren sounds right, and I'd have a go with mine. The question is have they done eneough work and how well do they fly round home. Your call. Best o'luck Pete............
