Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Nothing to do with a winning loft, flashharrywivloadsamoney, or living as you see fit: my post was on the suggestion that clubs could put Lottery money to better use and replace the run down loft in the film: That loft became run down because it hadn't been looked after for donkeys years, so who was going to look after the new one? The guy in the film? Based on what I saw, I don't think so, so I'd think twice about giving it to him, one bacause he won't appreciate it or look after it and two because some new start would give their eye teeth for one, and would treat it like a million dollar loft. A GOOD JOB THEN BRUNO YOU DONT DECIDE WHO GETS ANYTHING THEN ISN'T IT
blackjack Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 I have read with interest what has been said concerning the tv programme and the people in it with not owning a set i saw it on video at a friends this evening. To be perfectly frank it showed all the sides of the sport Derek Nicholls is an auctioneer/dealer/one loft organiser who states he is thier to make money he was also a fair decent flyer. Then the lovely man with his ill wife a real gentleman and sportsman who came across as Mr Nicholls for what he was. The old yorkshire chap who still is a fair decent flyer who loves his birds and is really close to them what nobody has mentioned was how clean his loft was on the INSIDE and how well his birds looked only a fool judges on apperances see what is inside the box forget the wrapping paper. Then the big spender ive met these people before the birds before the family nobody has mentioned the state of the kitchen that was the worst advert for pigeons in the programme i could never do that to my family. If you look thats what clubs/feds are made up of it wasnt that far awaythat chap in Plymouth was hardly old ans some of the younger fanciers ive met 20/40yrs thier language and lack of intelligence would exclude them .It was a programme on one loft racing as well not racing in general not for me but it showed us warts and all as have some of the statements on this subject.
Guest Paulo Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 thought that bloke who reckoned his birds were the best in england was a big head how can you say that when your not competing against everyone in england love to see how he would do up here which is one of the strongholds of pigeon racing. Its like the top men up here saying they are the best in the country when they are not flying against the southerners I hate big heads. People who have a love for their birds are the best if your birds love you they will fly their hearts out for you.

Also he put his family in debt which ya should never do family comes first no matter what, then doos second.
