fatherless chicks

What happens when a cock doesn't come home to his hen and chicks, will she cope on her own? The chicks have just got their feathers in but not fully yet, will the female cope on her own or will she need a bit of help? Will she be depressed for a while? :'( :'( :'(

:-/ hi chicadee, she will bring up the y/bs on her own as the hen nor the cock will abandon, the off spring,  but  if ya can place  one y/b under another pair it would help the hen, but as long as ya not going to race that hen she will be fine Speck.

Thanks speckled for that info, no its not a racing pigeon he is a burmingham roller and she is a speckled fantail.

So other birds take foster chicks do they? Is that when they have chicks of their own or can it be a pair with no chicks or just on eggs? :-/

:-/ hi  mate the mother wont  except a chick if its not sitting a chick,  :-/ :-/ but depends on the age of the y/b if t a y/ the same age i  dont thnk it would regect it Speck :-/
