why do some fantail cocks birds not fill there eggs?

and we are talking about garden fantails here

Maybe try triming the vents of both birds----may help--may not.

don't they have a problem mateing due to the tails, think i read somewhere about cutting tails.

The mating is a --kiss/mist- type thing.  make sure he can kiss/mist the hen----trim around the vents----not cut the tail feathers.

the tails need cut, if there show quality then its not good to cut the feathers. its a hit or a miss.
