H7N2 Bird Flu in North Wales

A canadian vet proved in 2005 that pigeons cannot catch bird flue,

Cut your quote down Chrissy, already answered 2nd part:-

Lot of misunderstanding. Two different types of AI , Low Pathogenic and High Pathogenic. The 2005 quote refers to Low Pathogenic, pigeons are immune.

A different matter tho with some of the High Pathogenic strains, e.g. Asian H5N1.  There's been some deaths in pigeons in the wild in China and Turkey, and in  some laboratory experiments - and then again there's been a lot more that survived / not become infected.

All shows are currently unafected and will go ahead as normal

Dont seem to matter wether pigeons are immune or not if DEFRA says there are no shows, racing or sales then thats what it must be,lets hope they dont over react this time.
