i have started keeping racing pigeons as a hobby as my dad used to keep them

 

could you please help me with things like:

*what do i feed them?(what type of seed)

*how many times do i fly them in a day?

depend on how many birds old and young you keep best food at this time is a high protein economy mix if not racing

If your just starting out I'd let them out once a day and feed them when they trap back to the loft. The amount you feed will come to you with time, you will find that if you feed too much they wont trap up very well, but if you feed too little they wont fly very well. A rough guide would be an ounce per bird, thats about a tight handful each.
