Plenty of time yet. Will basket train them well first them start them off from three miles and increase the milage up to around 20. To be fair different peoples birds will be more advanced than others the race team have been out three times a day since they were weaned and have been batching for weeks.Plus I have no old birds to race so the young birds have had my attention 100%. Been raking for ages and are fit I don't want them to come into full form too early so am holding them back a bit but mays well start training in the next couple of weeks before everybody else does. If you start at short distances and build them up its been my familys experience that you don't loose that many.

By first race I want them coming home chucked three birds at a time. AS you say its no use pushing them too hard too soon but you have to balance it up with the fact that to earn a place in the loft they need to perform.

If they can't do the job they are of no use to me. They are definately advanced enough hell some are even paired up will have to seperate the sexes soon. Plus I have the B team to fill any gaps in the team. Some of the B team have started to batch now and some are still squeaking!!!!

good luck paulo :)  [think you had the worst one in the pic ;D] lets see what the reds like now :)  best of luck anyway paulo :)

The pictures are all a bit rubbish Jimmy the works cameras rubbish. The race team are in great nick all white wattles and silky to the touch bodies are all muscle flying a hour easy at a time, wings going all the time no lazy pigeons gliding along.

Good pictures Paulo,

Nice to see you are getting chance to do some work, The 2 Ybs i got from you are just starting to rake aswell, they havent been to far yet.

Sean, sorry to hear about the Ybs on training, I had 36 out 38 take off last Sunday, got another one in today, still have 2 missing so didnt do too bad.

I hate them, why cant they do as the old birds(LOL), even they go missing now and again.

Lovely outlook Paulo,it must be a pleasure to race pigeons to that location. What,s it like on race days, do you get to see plenty of racing kits going through?

Great on race days Mick you can see for miles tons of big batchs flying overhead
