cricketer Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 hi all, if i were racing into the west of scotland or maye even central wih tmmorows forecast i wold not be going as its a north wind and they have no chance, the east will fill the first 50-80 open positions. when the snrpc wet last week it was south inthe wind, and with all due respect to the winners who raced very well,it was not a name who was winning it was also rans, and thats why if you look at the result you will find that most section winners have not even won there federatio so far this year and some not even a club race this year. what im trying to say is that when thers south in the wind its the lucky rather than good that win. the romancers will say a good sread of birds all over in the result, but the reality is the lucky win in a south wind into scotland.

Aye and Alf will testify to that
Guest Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I read it differently - main factor is heavy cloud cover and rain on South and East coasts of England. West of England, and the whole of Scotland remains clear, so I reckon the birds will track West of Pennines and if west section birds remain on the west side .... no dog-legging over to the east in scottish borders .... should figure amongst early ones. 4500 birds is quite a jump in entries in recent times, it promises to be quite an event. Good luck all.
budgie Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Rain should be clear by 9.00am with a liberation therafter.Biggleswade pigeons should go around 9.45am all racing into the West section of the National and hopefully the positions are equally split. The Dont care atitude is irresponible and the people making these comments should not be holding these positions or any other posts within their orginisations.Good luck to the convoyer and race controllers as to date and particular Lanarkshire the decisions have been fantastic considering the weather conditions at the start of the season.

SO WHEN DO YOU BECOME A NAME,WHEN YOU HAVE WON A FEW "BLAW HAME RACES" LAST WEEK OUR FED OPEN RACE WINNER WAS DOING 1765 2ND 1714 AND HE WAS CAUGHT OUT 2 YEAR AGO THE SAME 2 FANCIERS WERE 1ST AND 2ND OPEN WITH VELS IN THE 1800's SAME RACE THE WINNER CLEANS UP IN SHORT MID DISTANCE RACES THE SECOND PLACE BOY DOES BETTER AT MID TO LONG RACES YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED CRICKETER ,THE BEST DOO WINS THE RACE IN THE CONDITIONS THAT THE RACE IS HELD IN.THE WIND/WEATHER MAKES OR BREAKS THE RACE ,ITS CALLED LOFT LOCATION,THAT IS THE THE ONLY CONSTANT IN YOUR LOFT WE DONT FLY IN THE SNRPC BUT WELL DONE TO ALL WHO MADE THE RESULT MORE SO THE" LUCKY WINNER" HOPE WE ARE LUCKY THE MORN
doos r us Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 with respect cricketer the south wind is the great leveler here and gives everyone a chance the west wind is the norm that gives the east coast the advantage its different doos for east and west up here thats a fact

The reason the doos over in the west did well was for exactly the same reasons the doos in the east usually do best the weather suited them not the south wind a south wind is very common a south west wind is even more commom and usually brings perfect conditions for flying doos into the east of the country. Saying that if you are suggesting Peter is not a household name you ain't been flying doos for very long. First national win around 1964 if memory serves.
