tyson Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Hi everyone I am looking for a bit of advice as was thinking of sending to snfc falaise but on checking wings found most of them are on their fourth flight I think that they may be past there best what do you all think ???
jimmy white Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 a lot say the flights dont matter , but in my opinion, once they start casting, they cast pretty quick, but with 2 weeks to go b4 basketing , they may well be on their 5th , i often think at this stage the body feathers begin to slacken ready for the big moult, but off course theres allways exception to the rule with pigeons,, so wish you the best of luck
tyson Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 thanks jimmy I normally like them to be no more than 2/3rd flight but paired up in jan so the birds have moulted a bit quicker do you think once they are sitting it might slow it down a bit
Guest Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 think ya right there lad 2/3 ok more than that they are over the top ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 thanks jimmy I normally like them to be no more than 2/3rd flight but paired up in jan so the birds have moulted a bit quicker do you think once they are sitting it might slow it down a bit yes i would agree with that,, but again it depends on the workload theve had, ,ie lightly raced and still fuel left in the tank, but in the main over the 4th flight and their condition goes downhill a wee bit
tyson Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 thanks lads for the advice I am in that opinion myself the birds last race was newbury nat and done well from that race so I think I will just leave them till next year thanks again
