samantha Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 nestboxes what size should they be ?? my joiner is going to put me as many nest boxes in ma new loft as possible, bearing in mind i only want a simple set up for my few birds that are just pets.... what are the minimum requirements and do i need a ledge to stop chicks falling out ?? etc .. any pics would be really helpful sorry im asking so many questions but i want to get it right at this stage
peterpau Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 It might be a good idea to check out some nest box fronts sure it would help. Look on www.everythingforpets.com However some of the happiest looking birds I ever saw were in 25ltr drums with the tops cut off just stacked on top of one another Pigeons like space, with a corner they can defend. Nest bowls are good too

westburylofts Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Can rember being told of a fancier who used to get the old crisp box's from his local shop / pub. He stacked them up and the birds loved them. when he had finished with them he just took them out and burnt them. RAY
