Guest shadow Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I would put them on a young bird mix or lighten your feed with some barley that will get them flying.
jimmy white Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 if their flying well on what your giving them ,i would leave well alone, but if their not flying much , i would lighten the mix, even as far as 50 pc depurative 50 pc mix, but when they started flying longer i would up the protein. i had that problem once ,the darkness ybs were fed high protein, and were like turkeys, they were treading before they were flying :), but thats what i did ,fed 50 50 flagged them ,and they were soon going, then i upped the protein again when they were flying well.and they continued to fly well
Guest Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 You can always tell if you are giving your birds too much protein by looking at the colour of the skin on their breast, if it is pinkish you're OK but if it is bluish or purple they are getting too much and you can bring them back to normal by feeding barley and green tea in the drinker for 5 days. 2 of the 5 days add a splash of garlic oil to the drinker to purify the bloodstream
