depurative mix

what is depurative mix? can anyone elaborate ..

Its a very light mixture of corn mostly barley,most use it to keep the weight off the birds or to break them down.Instead of depurative i will be using a diet mix this year,diet mix is slightly more heavy.

I can't get a good depurative mis here, so what I do is sieve the normal race mix and mix the smaller seeds with barley.  The larger seeds are saved and used during the latter part of the week before racing

think deputitive has had its day for the use of widowhood  i use diet mix,saying that have bought some for the use of mixing some for the stock birds after breeding also for the widowhood hen to stop em from pairing up only till wed then best corn

do you mix your own grains as depurative, diet? or do you buy it ready mixed?

it can be bought ready mixed or you can mix it yourself , see my previous answer

I mix one bag of barley and one bag of young bird mix. I find that it makes an excellent depuritive.

when is the time to shift the feeds to depurative mixture? since from the start i feed my yb's racing mix. and im curious about depurative mix, if when to start giving it.

It is very easy to overfeed young birds on a mix which could give them protein poisoning.  I never give the pigeons mix, I split the feeding into 3 sections, first 1/3 barley then 1/3 pigeon pellets then the final third 14% protein mix.
