birds back and forth

this evening  here in the lothians [weather been great]  birds flying ,,,lost looking, heads going from side to side  back and forth all evening , in twos threes and fours ,,,,right up untill dark ??

same in lanarkshire looks like a lot went a bit to far then had to comeback
