At least once a week generally on sunday after racing

I bathe at least once a week, Sunday after the birds have exercised and fed with the old birds and twice a week with the young birds after training and feeding

Hi Mobster,

Through the summer months racing, my bath is in front of my birds all the time up until Thursday evening and I leave it up to them as to when they want a dip.  In the winter months, maybe once a month.  What suprises me is that no matter HOW COLD it is in the winter, when the birds are ready they will dive into freezing water.  My wife keeps Canary's and they are just the same.

Sundays nice relaxing in the morning switch the mobile off so noone can bother me take the radio and deck chair up to the allotment along with some food and drinks and reading material. Then exercise the birds feed them and leave the door opne and the bath filled on the grass and they can doss around for a hour or so they love it and I think it helps make them tame as they play around my feet have a bop to the music and chill. Important quality time from my viewpoint as happy pigeons make pigeons who want to come home. The pigeons seem to love music as well anybody else find this?

Put posstium permingate in bath water or versile laga bath salts depending or what I can afford to buy

Just started to do the same with mine Paulo, my loft is in the back garden and for the last few month Ive been rushing round like a blue arsed fly trying to keep the birds in trim. And its just starting to dawn on me that the birds and me need a bit of relaxation time. So ive been out to buy a bench and a bigger bath for the birds and every sunday my Ybs are allowed to get a bath and relax all day, and they are now much tamer.  :)

Good for us fanciers as well steve gives us a rest and time to enjoy the birds and you can get a lot of observation done and build up affinity with the birds all which allows you to learn more about the birds and understand their indivdual traits and how best to moviate them. Can't wait until I start racing next year guess I'll value the sunday mornings even more after 5.00pm starts for training tosses, looking after birds properly, studying for me degree and still trying to fit a social life in and not become a complete hermit.
