Tony C Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 The RPRA rule covering this. 127. a) Any member or Organisation arranging for the convoying of racing pigeons shall, where the number of birds carried exceeds 500, ensure that the vehicle used is adequately fitted with equipment for the controlling of fires. The number of pigeons placed in the basket or container must be restricted relevant to the distance and time spent in them. The following figures must be strictly adhered to. Failure to do so may entail suspension of the individuals or organisation responsible. The nights in the basket to be from the day of marking to the projected day of liberation. Time Minimum floor area per pigeon 0 or 1 night 44 sq. ins. 2 nights 52 sq. ins. over 2 nights 60 sq. ins. See Appendix F

doo.racer Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 20 years ago 30 was the norm. Now 25 is more the thing. Makes sense as we have more baskets than doos nowadays.
