bigbluecheq Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 what do members think should youngsters be raced as youngsters or trained hard and left for next year? if you train only what are they like as yearling , 2 year olds etc thanks
PIGEON_MAN Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 I never keep youngsters through the winter that have not been raced,I have stopped a few in the past that have had a couple of races but even that i dont like doing.
Back garden fancier Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 It was my first season last year, and I ended up with raced and unraced yearlings. There was no difference I could see as old birds. This year all my young ones are racing though.
Guest Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I would say race them out ,as the young ones which have not been raced seem to be way behind the others and may never catch up ,apart from the odd exception.
jimmy white Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 yb racing so unpredictable nowadays would tend to start stopping some after being well trained and about 4 races [so many each week] depending how returns were
