Okitsme Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Hey Peeps. Racing has sort of come to a sticky end for me. Pigeons all have young bird sickness and has me totally wrecked. Two weeks of no racing and then dont even know if pigeons will be ready to race again this year. Sorry just has to vent. :'( :-/ :'( :-/
Wiley Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Do yourself a favour get intouch with bilco on the site and order 3 sachets of Xerex for a tenner, I would keep the birds in during this period you'll get the youngs 100% better in 3 days, given a few days rest then i would give them a few training spins to get them back on the road, then you could race them. Chin up mate aint over yet
Guest Paulo Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Hey Peeps. Racing has sort of come to a sticky end for me. Pigeons all have young bird sickness and has me totally wrecked. Two weeks of no racing and then dont even know if pigeons will be ready to race again this year. Sorry just has to vent. :'( :-/ :'( :-/ Don't loose heart it can be solved pigeon racing is all about overcoming problems and not giving in. First of all no ffod for 24 hours and keep removing the vomitted corn and keep the place clean. Don't fanny on by trying to isolate birds that look ok they will have it as well and its best to treat the lot and get it sorted in one go. Then give them what Wiley is on about and a light feed something like red band or depurative then gemphanax on the corn and strike in the water for a week until they pull round. When their poo looks right nice and solid with a touch of white in it start exercising again until they are flying well for a hour then start training you'll have them pulled round in a week. You can also try nyistan to treat this what wiley recommends is prob the easilist for you to get hold of. What kills the birds is the secondary infections like e-coli and canker so keep the loft spotless and if they still aren't cured see a vet as the antibionics will have to be broken out
swilcox Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Handle them right and you might be suprised, they should pull out it esp if the weather isnt to hot!!!! Stuart
