yeh dont use any mate

We are rife with moss due to the shade of the trees, and weeds from the fields, so we need something to treat the grass  :'(

iwas the same ,, have a wee cherry blossom in the middle of garden ,, more moss than lawn :)  i just used ordinary selective weed and moss killer , but netted it ,, actually made a real mess to begin with [that was last year ] but beautifull this year

they say geraniums are bad for the birds rhubarb leaves etc, but youll see them all on the web[ive geraniums in my garden  :-/],, herbs are a good thing ,pansies [viola ] etc again youll see them all on the web,,,,theres loads :)

even nettles are good for them,, make nettle soup , just take the top few ins. of  the nettles , boil it and add to the water [couple of tablespoons aded to their water ] ,, but really is it worth all this ,, they know what their picking at [ob,s that is] and they know when they need it :)

I agree with Fifer, you have a drainage problem..

My front 'lawn' is on the north side of the house and in shade and is polluted with moss, not a lot of grass left there this year. The underlying problem tho is poor drainage. The long term solution is to redo the lawn first improving the ground, or remove plugs of soil over the lawn and replace with ash to improve drainage..

I have used a moss-killer, the label tells you if it is 'pet friendly' and is usually safe for animals when spray has dried, tho not for fish, usually deadly. It will gro back tho.  :-/
