phillips Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 i weaned all my ybs 23rd jan this yr had a real good season with them
Guest Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 ;D you wont know till u try Bart ;D , this year , my best so far , youngbirds were bred earlier, i paired up middle of january , majority went over in a 3 week window , so no great age difference , and i think this made a significant diffrence . best of luck to you . andy
kaybee Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 the y/bs rung early january need to be trained early as well but can be trained at the same time as your old birds and if kept at it, they will take some beating when it comes to racing them
jimmy white Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 early bred yb,s on natural darkness will body moult and hold flights ,,good for yb racing,,,,,but if you let the adult pairs sit more than 10 days on second round, they'll start throwing flights ,, no good for longer races [ok for w,hood sitting only 8days on second round]
phillips Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 I STOPPED MY YBS 5 RACES BEFORE END OV SEASON THIS YR THEY WAS ALL WEANED 23 JAN I SCHOOLED THEM WELL I WAS IN TOP 6 WHEN I WAS RACING THEM BUT AS SOON AS I STOPPED THEM WITHIN 2/3 DAYS THEY FELL APART AT THE SEEMS
Guest Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 My club mate and Secy Jim Jack has wiped the floor with us for a few years now with January bred youngsters - look and handle like yearlings.
