Paired up today. 7 pairs went down easily enough. Having probs with 2 pairs.

Pair 1 is a yearling cock. Not sure of age of hen. Cock started driving hen, then started pecking her head quite ferociously. Tried a partition in the box and tried letting them out in the loft on their own. Still no joy.

Pair 2 is a 6 year old cock purchased in december. Hen is an 06 latebred.

They do nothing! They both just sit there minding their own business.

Neither cocks are broke to the loft so cant give them an open loft.

Any ideas?

Only just got the last of my 4 problem pairs settled today - started last Friday.

Pair that are not interested: leave them in an empty section on their own (yb end or hens end) and leave nature to take its course ... 2/3 days?

Pair that cock is too aggressive: leave the box open and the pair in that section. Look for the hen to follow the cock into his box. He'll call her from a corner of the box and she'll come. Leave the box open so that she knows she can get back out if he starts. If they have taken, with some luck, all over in one day.

So there is hope yet then. I opened the box late afternoon as I did,nt want the cock to scalp the hen while I was,nt there to stop him. Will leave it open and see what happens.

Will move the other pair into the young bird section tommorrow and wait it out.

Cheers
