Dissapearing eggs?

I'm left rather confused, our Indian fantails had laid an egg yesterday and today it has dissapeared??????????????????????????

 

Has anyone else had this experience before????? ??) ??) ??) ??)

is there any trace of egg on the bird or brocken shell lying around,

Talking about something similar at clock-meeting today, clubmates have had magpies remove eggs from their loft.

may have got stock to one of the parent bird and dropped it or still stuck to the feathers.

We have since found the egg, she had burried it in the sawdust in her nest, which i have never come accross that before........ thank god its ok because we have been waiting for her to lay for ages,we separated them for ten days and put them back together again and then she laid her egg. ;D ;D
