robbie Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 At a recent AGM there was a strange decision taken that makes you wonder, who is actually running the asylum. 6 members from a neighbouring club wish to join said club, 5 are excepted 1 is not? Why i here you ask!, a member stands up and says if he gets in then i am out, no explaination to the rest of members at the AGM, and none asked. The result being 5 applications are withdrawn along with 1 existing members resignation. It seems a strange way to attract new members to an already deminishing club!!!!
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Can you explain whythe5 applications were withdrawn if they had allready been accepted and who withdrew them.also how come the guy resigned if the person he didn,t want in the club was not accepted anyway.Strange posting to me.

Maybe a simple case of, if number six is not getting then the five others withdrew due to one of the existing members threatening to resign because he had a beef with one of the new members??????
robbie Posted November 12, 2007 Author Report Posted November 12, 2007 Sorry maybe not clear enough, the member who resigned was a member who was supporting our applications. not the member objecting, and applications are to be withdrawn by us and excepted by the president

rabfefe Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 VALLANCE LOFTS SPOT ON TOO SCARED TO COMPETE AGAINST HIM GOOD ON THE MEMBERS TO STAND BY NO 6 CANT BE A MEMBER BUT CAN SEND BIRDS FOR TRANING AT 40p TO HELP WITH THE BIRDS COST OF TRANSPORTING THE BIRDS
Guest dogeon Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 fair play to you all now the club are 7 members down how long do you think there club is going to last.what a way to go on you think thay would be glad to have more members. more the merryer i say.
Guest Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Lot of assumptions being made here? Who said the club was scared of competing against the 6th new member? Is it not possible that the 6th membership was refused for a legitimate reason, a reputation for troublemaking / poor sportsmanship, for example? I know it is a matter of freedom of choice, but 6 members leaving one club must have an impact on the old club, including that club folding because it has insufficient members. And isn't it a poor, poor show when someone stands up at an AGM and makes a statement like that and is not questioned on it ... by anyone at the meeting?

PIGEON_MAN Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Surely there must be a good reason why this guy wasn,t allowed into the club and i got a feeling it wasn,t because their scared he will beat them all.
robbie Posted November 12, 2007 Author Report Posted November 12, 2007 Surely there must be a good reason why this guy wasn,t allowed into the club and i got a feeling it wasn,t because their scared he will beat them all. i have personally know this fancier for many years, he is a an avid club member aswell as supporting the federation with sponsered pigeons ,raffles, judging etc and also is one of the few members who actually help at Race markings at open events, and yes he has been our clubs highest prize winner for the last 4 years.
Guest dogeon Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 all this up set to the club and other members. the one who stood up at the AGM he must be one worried man to think he will be beaten on the races. OR have they fallen out before if there is a fude with each other why dont they let bygons BE bygons. perhaps you will never know the truth of this matter.just because he dont like that person it dont mean that he canot let him become a MEMBER.
thunderboult Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 if the club would'nt accept 1 man because 1 member did'nt want him the rest of the club should be ashamed of themselves.i'd have told the 1 throwing his toy's out the pram to give a valid reason or shut up.
willburdoo Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i am new to the sport but have always had a fancie for birds , i found it dawnting to join our local club , as to date i am not in the club but will be next year I hope ! i was going to join this year but was advised to get everything in order in my loft first and join next year , but in the club they had a vote and all excepts one voted for me ! and a partnership voted NO , they had there reasons to vote no and the right to , but this was due to a grudge they had against me from 15 years ago ! a thing had happend and the finger was pointed at me ! now without going into to much detail this partnership had no right to make judgments on me without proof and to drag there grudge into the sport was wrong and they in my mind should of been made to explane in front of the whole club why they voted against me and if they have a valid point fine and well , but if there reasons was nothing to do with the club they should be repramanded in some way or another ! but enyway next year when i join the club they will be my target and i will put in my all to beat these arssholes week in week out ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I thought a response from a regular contributor of this forum would have responded by now, either to put his point of veiw across or to clarify the postion within this club.
robbie Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 i understand that another member of this club has now tendered his resignation in light of what happened at the AGM.
me Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 i understand that another member of this club has now tendered his resignation in light of what happened at the AGM. And the club is this Robbie? Or better still who is the regular contributor to this forum and what accounts for his sudden "silence"?
DOVEScot Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 And the club is this Robbie? Or better still who is the regular contributor to this forum and what accounts for his sudden "silence"? I think the silent one should come forward, but now that Robbie has posted the snippet, he should name him in time :-/ Or at least the club :-/
