Hi Every

I have just been on the RSPB web site on typed a letter to them, it goes as follows

(Dear sir/madam i have just recieved a letter from you today ref joining the RSPB, in the top right hand corner of the letter you make ref to seeing a Sparrowhawk sitting on a fence, Unfourtunatly that sight to me is far to common, over the last 2 years i have seen the decline of all the  birds that used to frequent my back garden such as the Bluetit, House Sparrow,Bullfinch,Greenfinch,Song Thrushes,Collared doves and many more due to the once so called endangered Hawk, WHEN YOU as a society wake up to the fact that the hawks in this country are decimating the small bird population and do something about it i will gladly join your society).

Maybe if everbody from this sight were to post a e-mail to them they would sit up and listen and realise that the people of this country are VERY concerned about the small bird population and of course our pigeons.

i remember a good few years ago,i used to keep barn owls, rung ones of course.

i rang the rspb up once and asked how would i go about releasing barn owls ive reared myself, their reply was...we would not allow the public to self liberate owls but if u have any that u want to set free, then give us a call to arrange for us to set free the birds. this will only cost urself £45 per bird?..i said pardon u want me to rear a bird which was worth £50 each and give u it free and then pay u £45..i told them where to go .

I dont tnink they will listen as birds of pray seem to be the in thing with lots of people including the RSPB, they must know that they feed on other birds but this to them is nature and to others is good sport and natural, yes its nature but its not natural for birds of pray to be in our back gardens and towns, these are the places for the other small birds, now your towns and gardens are taken over by hawks seagulls and crows,

just did my bit and mailed em this.

sir,

do the rspb have any plans ,for the near future,of controlling the growing population of raptors in the uk ?

sparrow hawks and the like are destroying the population of small birds that once frequented our gardens both in the towns and countryside.

sparrows, goldfinches, bullfinches, greenfinches, robins and tits were all visitors to my garden years ago but nowadays they are simply nowhere to be seen. having said that ,what i have seen is a sparrow hawk bold enough to sit in the middle of my lawn ripping a young blackbird to pieces !

so do the rspb have any plans to address this issue before the poor old raptors are starving to death because all the songbirds have been slaughtered ?
