Guest Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 why is it under the members only section is there someone who dos,nt like the fact that the man was only giving his opinion on the s.h.u. for what they are :-/ dont know the answer to that one ?? andy
Guest Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Well to most people , post number 5 on the moved thread is less than meaningful, but is sure to draw fire, probably the reason it was posted in the first place - argumentative & a hook. Anything argumentative goes to pigeon politics; that's what its there for. Noticed nobody has taken the bait tho - so far.

I noticed also bruno you are the only mod to pick something out of this post .i wonder why, do you just love sitting there and picking fault with every post that someone writes about the s.h.u.. or is it because you have some grudge about the people, that has no part in your beloved s.h.u. and are affililated to another organisation, or is it that you don,t want people to have an opinion. which every person is entitled too, without you moving them .this is not the first time you have done this, oh no you continue tear everything from ar--hole to breakfast time!! why not let the people see and read other peoples opinions on your beloved union this is what the forum is for is it not, to discuss the goings on, and the person was right what of the president. MR J. HAMILTON who was omitted from the book on purpose i presume to suit mr 10% and his cronies from the s.h.u. i say bruno come down of your planet, and say it as it is and be fair to everyone who posts, and gives an opinion.
DOVEScot Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I don't think moderators should be allowed to switch hats whenever it suits them. They have personal opinions like the rest of us, but can use their power as a moderator if they do not like a post Webmaster comes on here doing his job, but he also has "mealybar" when he is posting personal opinions, why not the same for moderators I personally cannot see why the post was moved so quickly :-/
Webmaster Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 The topic hasn't been removed or deleted, it's only been moved to the Pigeon Politics board. You can still post on it, can still view it, and it still comes up on the portal. I dont see the problem here? :-/

I dont see the problem here? :-/ We know the moderators have a job to do moving posts when members post them in the wrong forum, sometimes a thankless and needless task at times if members like me and others place them wrongly either by mistake or being flipant. But there are times if moderators have personal interests or pet hates certain issues and posts are dealt with differently, when members notice this happenning especially to them they raise objection. In this case it seems to have been moved very quickly for some reason :-/
THE FIFER Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 it is politics so was moved to the politics board, where it should be.

I saw nothing wrong with the thread until post 5. That person said 'he' hadn't read the book but then went on to say a named and well known fancier had been deliberately left out because someone unnamed didn't like him. That post would do one of two things - it would start an argument, or it would stop the thread dead. Either way, it turned a discussion on a book into a political point. The moving to another board had nothing to do with it being SHU. Other threads have gone there too for the same reason.

When we move a post, it isn't to wind a member up, it isn't a rap on the knuckles. It is to keep the forum organised (as best as possible), which means that members who perhaps dont visit so often (and cannot keep up with the volume of topics through the portal) can easily find what they are interested in, and post or read. I cant stress enough, that topics are moved to help the membership; it really doesn't deserve the stigma it seems to have adopted.

Just my point of view that some posts get moved as soon as, where the very same type get left to run on the main board :-/
