Guest chrisss Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 as some of you guys might be aware i am in effect starting up again, when is the latest you can pair your birds up to have your ybs "on the darkness" chrisss
schouwman71 Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 anytime i guess, the younger they are the less you will need them on darkness before racing young birds start
speedbird Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 i got my ybs in march & put em straight on darkness & they went to every race without starting to moult but saying that they were late going through the moult compaierd to my dads some still have 3/4 to throw but i did have a blinding season with the ybs
jimmy white Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 theres not much point putting them on darkness if their bred really early,,as its naturaly dark , but these early bred birds are usually not trained till about 7 months old .. so its really like training late late breds ,, so for yb s on darkness middle of feb is early enough [and put straight on darkness] given normal daylight on the longest day,, these birds should complete their second moult ok [and trained when 10, 12 weeks old, short distances ]b4 real training starts
chasey123 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 hi i was woundering if anyone could help me im helping me mate racing nxt year and thinking of goin on the darkness just woundering if anyones got abit of info when 2 pair up n tht would be very gratefull
william45 Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Chasey, if you want to win with these young birds breed as early as possible but don,t put on dark until middle of march. Keep em on the dark for ten weeks , train em from about three months old.
