Hi there

My girlfriend has finally let me get a few pigeons!!

I'm 25 and always wanted pigeons.  When I was very young we used to have a few tumblers, but that was so long ago.

Could anyone here please give me some help.

I would like to get started in racing pigeons.

At first I would like just several birds, maybe 6.

I would like to build a small loft to start off with, how do I go about doing this? I am really unsure.

Could someone please please please give me the basics on how to get started.

I am based in Southport, Merseyside.

Kind regards

Matt Naylor.

you could start off with an ordinary garden shed, look at some pictures of lofts and it will give you an idea of how to put a front on it, they need acsess and fresh air, and light,

Hi matt it might be a good idea to get to know some of your local pigeon fanciers and have a look round there lofts. Im sure some one in your area will show you around the loft to let you pick up some of the basics. When i first started i was shown round a local fanciers loft and i picked up on how the basics are set out in the loft. Hopefully one of the local fanciers can take you into his loft to show you the ropes . Best of luck ....Michael.
