They do not sit on the first egg normally, they will sit when they lay the second one about two days later
coey Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 found it today. my other birds sat there first 1, thats what made me think it odd.
homer Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 found it today. my other birds sat there first 1, thats what made me think it odd. sometimes the parents stand over the 1st egg but are not , what they call , 'sitting tight' . 9 times out of 10 the hen lays misses the next day then lays the following day . ie. a rest day between eggs. once the 2nd egg is laid you may find the parents begin to incubate the eggs as normal.
barlbymark Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 you will find when they lay the second egg they will sit tight and both will be ok
coey Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 ok thanks everyone. im just worrying over nothing lol.
