darkknight Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 ok out of interest what are the prizes in pigeon racing as i really have no idea
Guest Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 It all depends on your local club, fed etc. Some clubs have a pooling system (betting) where you bet on your birds ina race, this somethimes applies to feds etc. Some clubs/feds will have a prize system where you will get moneyfor winning a race. usually this money comes from the birdage paid. E.G. if your birdage is normally 30p per bird, the club may charge 40p and then the extra 10p will be used as prize money. hope this helps
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 our club has a £5.00 Nom bet where you nominate 1 bird each and the frst person to time there nomed bird in wins the 5ers. Just as a side bet we also have the pool money which starts @ 5p upto £1

Ronnie Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 hmm i see well the club im joining fly in the Shropshire fed and it cost £45 to race Its probably £45 to join and for the fed and rpra fee's .You will have to pay per bird each week as well. The prize money is nothing to write home about unless your in the big race clubs ie:one of the national's and then only if you pool your bird. Most people who make money out of the pigeon sport do so by selling birds or pigeon product's.
darkknight Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 no its £30 to join the club and then £45 to race
Tony C Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 Try and get hold of the clubs balance sheet, that should tell you what your paying for and where it goes.
darkknight Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 ok i got it wrong its £45 extra when you race in one of the big races £30 joining fee is £10 for the club and the rest is for things like rpra membership and so on
