sapper756 Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I have entered 2 birds into a one loft race, they are accepting birds, from February up untill April, my delema is that I will have 2 ideal candidates ready in 2 weeks time, but I am unsure as to whether it would be better, breeding 2 more off my next round for this entry. What would you do????? :-/
chichichi Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 we have entered one also and they will be going to it next tues 26th feb,, we could wait another month and get a second round in but the birds might be weaker,, if the first round are strong and healthy get them in.. goodluck all in one lofts ant
kev Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I would agree, get them in as soon as they are ready, putting them in later will mean they will have to go out with birds who are much stonger and more chance of getting carried away. Kevin
THE FIFER Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 i would agree get them in with the first, as the longer u wait they wi;ll be out with other birds which are well on,
Guest Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 get them in asap especialy if the loft is on darkness let it find its perch without fighting at a early age also helps with all the ailments its going to experience (make sure it is from birds with a good constuition thats the most important thing ) they will do nothing if not from birds that breed that and that might not be your best racer as young birds

madmaxlofts Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 i dont think you can beat march bred younsters
Guest Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 thats a common mistake when you enter a 1 loft race its a whole different set of rules from your own loft set up and the birds mean nothing to you once they are in the loft EXEPT MONEY!!!!!!!
Guest slugmonkey Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 WAIT this might sound terrible but the less time your birds spend in a one loft situation the better off you are how many times have birds been lost from 1 race lofts only to return a week or 2 before the race and wound up winning it
