peronally i wouldnt worry about, so called" breeds" theres good and bad in them all, i would tend to get pigeons for the type of races you would like to excell in, pigeons that have won well through a few generations , good management gets the best out of good birds , befriending   a genuinely good flier ,and learning every move he makes ,taking everything in, is often better than books or videos :) good luck to you. :)

I go into every season and believe my team are capable of winning and winning big. I take it upon myself as a fancier to get the winning out of them. 100% commitment is what win races, doubt your pigeons and I cant see how you can do this.

I’ve won sprint races with pigeons all shapes and sizes, snipe’y looking ones, ones with wish-washy eyes, long legged ones, ones that handle like a ball of knotted string & some that are darn right ugly. What I’m saying is if they don’t conform to a certain type don’t think they’re not capable of winning.

Go for it, live the dream :)
