Wiley Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 You hear alot of the old Widowhood flyers mention, that Widowhood cocks should get as much rest as possible in the loft and shouldn't be disturbed to often. However my question is, does it actually matter how much time you spend in the loft, aslong as your birds are resting and comfortable in your company?
crazy pigeon boy Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 i would not think that would matter mate if they are completely at ease with you being there then it should be fine a local fancier round here spends hours with his team and he does very well in racing in the cards every week
just ask me Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 wiley good question hard to know i only spend the hour in the morn and eve with mine i would imagine that most cocks would settle in your presence but as we all know in pigeon racing there all different id say there would bbe one or two who wouldn't completely rest and the schedule is the most important thing that u same every day say the best way is too leave it too the two times a day or once what ever way suits ure life
schouwman71 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Twice a day for me,once in the morning and once in the late afternoon, they do seem to rest more that way,now ime in the garden racing all my birds are occupied in the same loft so now they can hear whats going off, plus my hens are in the next section to them,i dont believe widow hens are to be far away from the cocks has ive seen many top lofts with there hens next to there cock, but back to your question, the best form ive seen with widowers is when there not disturbed during the day while they lay in there boxes resting.Good Luck.
