timbarra Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 Well done mate, did you pick those 2 birds for him or did he pick them out? I selected them for him. I only keep and breed pigeons that would improve anyones results, advice is given to how they should be bred, I have had other reports from fanciers in UK but they ask to remain annonimous, self explanitory i think. thank you all, knockers included. regards spencer
Guest chrisss Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I selected them for him. I only keep and breed pigeons that would improve anyones results, advice is given to how they should be bred, I have had other reports from fanciers in UK but they ask to remain annonimous, self explanitory i think. thank you all, knockers included. regards spencer i was once told by a very old fancier that the proof of a good fancier was that not only did he breed birds that won for himself he could breed pigeons that won for others so in that respect well done, but there are guys out there who given a million pounds and the best lofts could not win,yet another guy could pick 4 strays breed ybs and destroy his local club, so is it the pigeon or the man? [i still cannot understand why you need 2 different posts for the same scoop but hey if you need to rub it in fire away] ;D ;D ;D
Ronnie Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 must agree with Tammy, You havn't won anything, certainly not BIG! You've got positions but thats it! What were the velocities? if it was a blow home you could get a fantail in the result! Nice to see your racing Fantails mate i'm all for trying new things. Great results Spencer i would be proud of myself it was my birds that bred them.
Guest casbri Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 i say well done to timbara very well done mate
timbarra Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 its not rubbing it in Chrisss, I posted it here and on eyesign section , because on the eyesign section a eyesign expert said my meulemans were in a deteriation phase and would deteriorate over generations, well I own champion producer hen EL TIGRE-CHER and she has given 4 generations of winners and thought I would make a valid point to the so called eyesign expert , that post was for he's interest only. EYESIGN is not a selector, but a part of. regards spencer

THANKS AGAIN SPENCER
schouwman71 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Must say spencer, the eyes ive seen on your birds will definatly take some weakening, unless you put the wrong pigeon into them,i know myself the eyes on the old vanden bosch keep the same strenth through many generations,my old breed of van den bosch has gone 10 generations down now and still hold exactly the same eyes.
timbarra Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 HI LES, YES I TRY TO KEEP TO WHAT KAREL MEULEMANS STATES AS WINE COLOURED EYES, ALL MY MEULEMANS ARE WHITE OR WINE COOURED, I DO NOT HAVE A YELLOW ONE AMONGST THEM, I SELECT AS KAREL DOES AND I BREED AS CLOSE AS I CAN TO KAREL, I FEEL WHY TRY TO UNDO THE WORK THAT THE ORIGINATOR HAS ALREADY DONE FOR YOU ? MY MEULEMANS HOLD THEIR TYPE AS YOU SAY, IF YOU CROSS THEM OR KEEP THEM PURE THEY WIN !! LES YOU KNOW THE MEULEMAN PIGEONS AND THEIR TYPE AND WHAT IS DESIRED , SO YOU KNOW PIGEONS. WHAT MAKES THE ACHIEVEMENT IN PORTUGAL EVEN MORE REWARDING IS , THE PIGEONS WERE 4 MONTH OLD LATE BREDS AND THEY BEAT EXPERIANCED OLD BIRDS !! SOME QUALITY IN THERE.. CHEERS MATE SPENCER
Guest KING BILLY Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 well dun mate thay will win in lanarkshire 2
timbarra Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 I expect they will certainly do that billy !!! let me know how they do...... but i know i need not ask as they will win. spencer
Guest mikkey Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 im not a racing man i just keep a few rollers, i keep hearing of all these foreign strains van nistelrrooys, van persies, van bastens ;) etc etc....wheres all the british strain names if there is any? and are they any good? or is it that the foreign birds are better
timbarra Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 hi mikkey, I personally think that foreign birds are better in some repect due to the sport being more proffesional on main land europe and other country's. But on reflection British pigeons are just as good quality wise, I just think some pigeons do not get the recognition they deserve in the UK and some get more than should be credited !! in the main, its get what works and stick to it following the founders methods until they stop winning. spencer
Guest mikkey Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 so really if thats the case then foreign breeders and fanciers must be better than british breeders and fanciers :-/ :-/
Guest chrisss Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 its not rubbing it in Chrisss, I posted it here and on eyesign section , because on the eyesign section a eyesign expert said my meulemans were in a deteriation phase and would deteriorate over generations, well I own champion producer hen EL TIGRE-CHER and she has given 4 generations of winners and thought I would make a valid point to the so called eyesign expert , that post was for he's interest only. EYESIGN is not a selector, but a part of. regards spencer you sir are more of a gentleman than i was let to belive [proof that you do not belive all you read ;D ;D ;D ;D] good luck this season ane more important keep proving them wrong ;D ;D
mark Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 so really if thats the case then foreign breeders and fanciers must be better than british breeders and fanciers :-/ :-/ there is just as many good fanciers in the uk as in europe. british fanciers are very under rated.
schouwman71 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 its usually the british fanciers that makes the name for the foreign fanciers has when we win we call them van this or van that,so they get the recocnition without having to do the work. But i believe also that we are better breeders has we make the family better once there in this country,i know 1 or 2 top breeders on basics and if they were dutch they would be famous. Les
swilcox Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Lads there isnt any difference in the quality of pigeon only competition. The fact is in Holland and Belgium there are much more simple systems, mass liberations, Ace pigeons and true nationals so the champion tend to be undisputed if you like. We have such a complicated racing system in the UK its hard to really tell who who!!!!! We would even agree on this countrys blue chip race. Stuart
Guest mikkey Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 isnt there a mass race where everyone and every club competes? and if not why not it would be a good way of getting the top birds in british racing on the european map or am i just dreaming
swilcox Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Mikkey There isnt and thats where are problems lye, there isnt a prestige event in the uk where we all send and the winner is held in the highest order. Belguim has Bourges 70,000b and Barcelona 30,000b. The Dutch have Orleans (now le mans/ablis) 100,000b and Saint Vincent 38,000b The UK have 30 different races with 1000 to 3000 birds in yet we have more fanciers.

'Now" Last part of your message etc, (from someone who knows) if that doesn't get some smart men thinking :D . Nothing will !!!!!. Enjoy.
