UNCLE Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 hi out there, anyone know whatwitpen means
Back garden fancier Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 It's Dutch or Belg for white flight. Hence you see pigeons called "Blau witpen" which simply means blue white flight! It always amuses me when I see English fanciers calling their birds witpen or De goode blau, which means "the good blue!" Why do we think everything Dutch or Belg is better than ours?
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 one of the internations was won in England , just goes to show we should be keeping our own breeds as the old guys did years ago
Guest chrisss Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 if you see the word witpen on a belgian or dutch ped it means "this will cost you more" it sounds more "good" than whiteflight
