Guest joshdonlan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Would any couriers consider a contract to pick up and deliver the charity auction birds and donate a percentage of the contract to charity? This would be a good way for good publicity for any of the new couriers starting up and would also benefit a very good cause. http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1222719537/ Thanks for looking
rooster Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 A very good idea i thought the couriers off the site would of jumped at this idea & all for a good cause , even better now with the price of petrol coming down , :-/
Guest joshdonlan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Flyin couriers are showing intrest.
Guest joshdonlan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 it was just an idea. i have no connection with the auction, just thought it would be a good idea!!! :-/
PigeonTracker Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 The problem with asking Couriers to sign a contract to deliver charity birds is what if one of the birds was won by someone up in Thurso, one was won by someone from the inner bowels of Cornwall, one by someone in Northern Ireland, and so on, this would put tremendous pressure on the courier who's committed to delivering them for less than an already low price. Our company already donates to charity and no doubt will donate to C.I.N and if there are any of these birds that we could do for free we would but without running the risk of making empty promises as this would let the winning bidder down and be a death knell for the courier responsible. When the auction is over if you let us know who's won what and then post about where they need to be delivered I'm sure you'll see us offering our services for free let alone for a cut but only if we know we can deliver them without delay. Hope that makes sense.
Guest joshdonlan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Like i stated on another post i have no connection with the auction, it was just my idea. Please contact A Hitchcock if youre intrested. Thanks for the intrest. I understand what you are saying. Josh
DOVEScot Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Great Idea Maybe a courier could donate if not all then some funds towards the transport of the birds and all winners would get a discount. I think any courier that takes on the task would more than get the outlay back with fanciers favouring their services, also milk any publicity out of it :-/
Guest Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Yes great idea but I'm surprised Josh didn't contact Andrew to see if he hadn't already done this

The Navigator Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 That's true of Jamie's comment. Jamie I am sure would do something for any charity knowing the man he his.
